Update, 13 October 2026: the table is back up. Duel's live Blackjack table is open and dealing again after being closed since 17 September 2026. The rest of this post is the record of the closure.

Duel’s live Blackjack table has reopened. It was closed for just under four weeks after Duel announced on its official Discord on September 17, 2026 that an incident at the studio had shut the building down. As of 13 October 2026 the table is live again.

If you came here while the table was offline: that is why it was down. Originals Blackjack, the in-house card game in the Duel Originals lobby, is a separate product and was never affected.

What Duel said when it closed

The announcement was posted to the official Duel Discord on September 17, 2026:

The Duel Blackjack table is closed indefinitely due to an incident at our studio. The entire building has been temporarily shut down because of an intruder. We are still awaiting a full situation report from the studio, but our understanding is that the suspect is in custody and no one was injured. We don’t have an ETA yet for the table coming back up. Please bear with us, we’ll announce any updates on the situation.

Duel categorically condemns violence or threats of violence in all possible forms.

That was the whole of what was officially stated at the time, and Duel did not publish a fuller account before the table returned.

What we still don’t know

We are not going to fill in the gaps, so to be clear about the limits of the above:

  • Duel said it was awaiting a full situation report from the studio. We have not seen one published.
  • There is no police or independent confirmation of any detail.
  • Duel gave no reopening date in advance. The table simply came back.

If you see a version of this story with more detail, check whether it has a source.

Was Originals Blackjack affected?

No. These are two different things that share a name:

  • Live Blackjack is the streamed table filmed at a physical studio with a human dealer. This is what closed and has now reopened.
  • Originals Blackjack is Duel’s own software card game inside Duel Originals. No studio, no dealer, no camera. It ran throughout.

If you have been reading about Duel’s live tables and were not sure which product you were looking at, our Duel Original Blackjack guide covers the distinction in full.

Who is at the table

The live table’s dealers, celebrity guests and lookalikes are listed with dates in our Duel Blackjack dealers who’s who. The costumed character who crashes the table is covered at Who is Freakbob?.

Where updates appear

Duel posts table news to the official Duel Discord first, as it did with the closure. If the table goes down again, that is where the explanation will land, and we will update this page.

The “Updated” date at the top of this post reflects the last time we checked it against what Duel has said.
